Tofu
makes this drink smooth and creamy without the addition of milk
or cream. The lemon color is pretty in the summer. I use a
Spanish almond blossom honey which may be ordered through www.zingermans.com. They also carry a French lavender, Italian herb and a
thyme flavored honey. Lavender adds a subtle, distinctive flavor
and is also part of a seasoning mixture called Herbes de
Provence. A sprig of lavender brightens your
dishes or can add whimsy to a glass of lemonade.
½ (12.3-ounce) box low-fat tofu
2 cups
orange juice, made from frozen concentrate
1
banana, peeled
2
tablespoons Spanish almond blossom honey
¼
teaspoon vanilla extract
6 ice
cubes
1. Blend
the tofu, orange juice, banana, honey and
vanilla extract in a blender until
smooth.
2. Add ice cubes
and use the ice crushing button to slowly crush
the
ice to produce little slivers of ice throughout the drink,
giving
it a different texture.
3. Pour into two
tall glasses and serve with straws.
