Turkey Burgers with Gravy
Turkey is so versatile you can make so many
different variations. Here is my favorite way to make burgers. If you want them
to be even leaner, try using ground turkey breast. They will be drier and I
prefer lean ground turkey. Chicken base may be found on your grocery store’s
soup isle. If you can’t find it just use a cup of canned chicken stock.. When
I make this recipe I also make some instant mashed potatoes and a side dish of
frozen vegetables.
Burgers
20 ounces lean ground turkey
¼ cup minced shallot
⅓ cup Italian breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons sour cream
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
2 garlic cloves, pressed
1
tablespoon olive oil
Gravy
4 tablespoons organic butter
4 tablespoons unbleached all-purpose flour
2 cups hot water
2 teaspoons organic chicken base
1. Burgers: In a large mixing bowl,
combine the turkey, shallot, breadcrumbs,
egg, celery sour cream
seasoning salt and garlic.
2. Form 4 burgers and fry in olive oil in a large frying pan until completely
cooked.
3. Remove burgers from frying pan and make
gravy in same pan.
4. Gravy: Melt the butter in the frying
pan. With a whisk, stir in the flour and then
add the water and
chicken base. Whisk until thickened.
