Onion Meat Loaf

A spicy chili sauce tops this lean meat loaf and it is delicious served with a potato casserole. Horseradish is a common condiment which stimulates digestion.

Meat Loaf

    2 pounds lean ground beef (7% fat)
    1 envelope onion soup mix
    3 slices challah or buttermilk bread, crusts removed
    2 large eggs
    ⅓ cup water

Chili Sauce

    ⅓ cup Heinz® chili sauce
    ¼ teaspoon mustard powder
    2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
    ¼ teaspoon creamed horseradish

1.  Preheat the oven to 350 .

2.  In a large bowl, mix the beef, soup mix, crumbled bread, eggs          
    
and water. Press into a 8 ½ x 4 ½ x 2 ½-inch loaf pan.

3.  In a small bowl, mix chili sauce, mustard and brown sugar.
     Use a spoon to spread sauce evenly over the meat loaf.

4.  Bake at 350
for 1 to 1 ½ hours or until completely cooked.

      Hint: Also works well in a round casserole dish or you can
      make four individual size meat loaves in smaller dishes.

      Makes 4 to 6 servings
