Flowered
Cheese Ball
Pansy
flowers are easy to grow and may be used to decorate this cheese ball in the
summer. If you are making this recipe in the winter, omit the sour cream and
garlic and add a pinch garlic salt, then roll the cheese ball in a cup of
chopped mixed nuts.
8 ounces cream cheese or Neufchâtel cheese
1 ½ cups shredded
gouda cheese
2 tablespoons butter
½ cup sour cream
2 tablespoons whole
milk
1 garlic clove,
crushed in a garlic press
1 tablespoon sliced
green onion
¼ cup chopped fresh
parsley
8 edible flowers for
decorating
1.
In a large bowl, use a wooden spoon to mix the cream cheese,
gouda, butter,
sour cream, milk, garlic and onions.
2. Form the cheese mixture into a
ball with your hands. The
cheese will be
very soft. Set down and wash your hands.
3. Roll the cheese in chopped fresh
parsley and set on a plate.
4. Decorate with edible flowers. To
serve at a party, surround
cheese with
crackers and provide a little knife for serving.
